The Azerbaijan Tourism Board participated in the Pakistan Travel Mart held in Karachi, Pakistan, presenting the country's diverse tourism offerings.
In collaboration with Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and six local tourism companies, the Azerbaijani stand introduced visitors to UNESCO-listed heritage sites, national cuisine, tourism routes, and modern travel infrastructure.
During the event, Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, took part in the panel discussion "Redefining Destinations: Sustainable Tourism and a Resilient Future" and addressed the Sustainable Tourism Forum organized by the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD). He highlighted Azerbaijan’s sustainable tourism practices and the importance of public-private partnerships in the tourism sector.
Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) currently operates direct flights between Islamabad, Lahore, and Baku, enhancing travel connectivity between the two countries.
In 2024, the number of Pakistani visitors to Azerbaijan reached 80,924, marking a 47% increase compared to 2023, further establishing Pakistan as a key source market for Azerbaijani tourism.
